There are always some people in small towns who just want to be left alone to their own devices. As far as I am concerned, Potwin will be a good option to consider. I think we can expect some other more progressive small towns to make offers, too. Looking forward to seeing everybody; have been pretty much absent this summer.
Yes, Potwin is planning on hosting a breakfast ride on the second Sunday in August. Originally they were going to start in 2011 but evidently had some vendors or locals who asked to start earlier. If the August one works well they'll continue it. The main drag is very wide, curbed and runs for 3-4 blocks. There is a lot of room on side streets as well. The city park is on the main drag and has plenty of shade. Potwin is located just off K196 about halfway between El Dorado and I135. You may also prefer the backroads as there is pavement running north all the way to US50 and going south will take you to a number of east/west roads. You can get all the way to K254 on paved backroads. They would love to have you there.
Also, on August 21 Potwin will be holding their annual Watermelon Festival. For the past two years a few of us have ridden in their small parade. I would like to extend an invitation to my fellow SCRC members to join me in riding in this 4-5 block long parade. We've always received lots of comments, interest and applause. We'll go to Sturgess that day, too (the street, really, I'm not kidding). We've done this because a friend and fellow rider lives in Potwin and is very involved with the festival. We wanted to show our support by riding in the parade. It's a short one and we get a kick out of being in it. After the parade their is a poker run which will take you south through Leon, Atlanta, Rock, Douglass and Augusta (via Thunder Road of course).
If you have any questions just give me a shout and I'll answer them as best I can or I'll point you in the right direction.
Sounds like something alittle different than what we're used to. I don't have Reserve Duty on either the breakfast Sunday nor the 21st so I should be able to make both. Haven't seen anyone for awhile; look forward to getting together!
You can count on Jan and I for it's on sun and cessna can't make me work .it would be realy neat if we all showed up 100 strong. hope to see erverone then Paul/Jan
Like most of the comments state. We will always have options. The Cassody ride was for breakfast and to get out and put some miles on the bike. It has turned into a bit of a Circus and that is just my opinion. I would rather point my bike in another direction and stop for breakfast where ever I ended up.

Hello All!
Sounds like something alittle different than what we're used to. I don't have Reserve Duty on either the breakfast Sunday nor the 21st so I should be able to make both. Haven't seen anyone for awhile; look forward to getting together!

I have to agree
You hit it on the head Mike, but as I here it now Potwin is going to step in and offer a fun time.
